What to Expect

1. Initial Consultation

We begin with a consultation to understand your research goals—whether related to unknown parentage, adoption, biological family identification, missing family lines, or historical genealogy research.

You share what you know, and we discuss possible research approaches based on the information available.

If you have limited information, that is common. Many cases begin with only a name, approximate date, location, or family story.

2. Information Gathering

We review available information and gather relevant materials to support the research process, which may include:

  • public records
  • historical documents
  • client-provided materials
  • voluntarily provided DNA results (when applicable and authorized)

Even limited details can provide valuable starting points for genealogical research.

3. Research & Analysis

We conduct genealogical research using historical records, public databases, and DNA analysis (when applicable) to identify relationships, reconstruct family lines, and evaluate possible connections.

Progress updates may be provided throughout the research process depending on the scope of the project.

4. Cross-Referencing & Validation

Findings are evaluated and verified through multiple sources whenever possible.

This may include:

  • building family trees
  • comparing historical records
  • analyzing DNA matches (when applicable)
  • validating relationships through supporting documentation

5. Reporting & Delivery

Research findings are compiled into a written report summarizing discoveries, supporting evidence, and relevant source references.

Reports may include:

  • documented research findings
  • source references
  • family tree summaries
  • explanatory context for genealogical interpretation

6. Ongoing Support

We remain available for follow-up questions after delivery of findings, including clarification of research results or discussion of next steps.

Additional or expanded research may be arranged as a new or extended engagement.
